well, I chatted with Panadero today looking for the how to video on replacing the door seal.

They told me the seal "must" be replaced annually to avoid making the old seal too hard to remove. Ugh, well, no, that's not what the manual says; actual syntax is:
"It is normal for the seal of the glass door panel to melt with use. Even though the stove can function without this seal, it is recommended that you replace it seasonally."

"Recommended" is the actual word. They got very attorney-like with me when I pointed out the different words meanings.

So, I'll be replacing the seal today...I hope it isn't too baked on after two seasons! I will surely take some photos
Oh, man , that was harder than I expected

and I'd say rather unnecessary...

the seal adhesive from the factory that I had to remove was like fire cement- pretty much hard as tile grout

what Panandero supplies as a mastic for a replacement seal is silicone...and silicone is what their seal replacement videos show being used

anyway, it took about 5 hrs...I hope it works...I may have put a bit too much adhesive but it should work out alright...I was concerned with not having enough cuz they supply a junky squeeze tube... that split while I was applying it (not cool)...I'll find out over the next couple days

Fed more silver maple in the furnace this morning. Something like 4 or 5 splits, accompanied by 2 splits of ash. Left just enough coals for a 3PM reload of a gang of silver splits. Blustery cold today. 1st ''long'' burn cycle of the furnace so far.

38 now heading to 30 tonight. Stove lit with two large cherry and elm splits on sleepers with two smaller oak and maple splits on top. Various Uglies in the gaps. Fast secondaries tonight.

Heading down near 30 by early morning. First full load in the stove I’m kinda guessing on stat setting so we will see. Turned the air down at 830pm to low so we will see how long we can stretch this load of ash out.

The outside temp is 26.6 tonight, the basement temp started out at 75 with the temps up here 70 & 71. The overnight load in the wood stove has four splits of cherry on the bottom row with another four splits of cherry on the top row.
