We had a low of 26.6 this morning, the basement temp started off at 70 with the temps up here 67 & 68. Another load of shoulder season wood is going in the wood stove.

Colder weather is starting to happen. It was 38º this morning. The T6 has settled in for the long burn with a 3/4 load of doug fir and a nice rolling secondary burn.

It's 28.8 out tonight, the basement temp is starting out at 75 with the temps up here 71 & 70. The wood stove has a load of mostly Cherry with one round of Ironwood and two smaller splits of Pine.

We had a low of 23.9 this morning, the basement temp started out at 72 with both temps up here at 68. Another load of shoulder season wood went in the wood stove this morning.

Last night I fed the furnace a good load of small rounds. Ash, sugar maple, and a stick or 2 of norway maple.
Haven't been down to check on it since before midnight when I loaded it.

Had some coals leftover in the furnace from last night at about 9:30 this morning. They were buried deep within the ashes. Quick stir up and left to ingest some air, their glow brightened back up. Tossed in some more of the same rounds as last night, plus a couple couple uglies. A lighter load to take chase away the morning chill.

It's 38.9 out tonight, the basement temp is 77 with the temps up here 73 (living room) with the bedroom at 71. The boss said it was warm enough so no fire tonight.

Crazy weather here. No rain in almost two months. Wildfires popping up. No stove for awhile morning temps in the 40’s and 50-60 during the day. Mini splits until the next cold weather.

We had a low of 43 this morning, the basement temp started off at 70 with both temps up here at 68. Another shoulder season fire is going in the wood stove.

We had more rain overnight but still need more, hopefully this next system coming in will give us a heavier rain.

Been having 1/2-3/4 size overnight mixed loads most nights nothing during the day. 1/2 load of aspen and silver maple this morning to take the chill out. Going up over 50 again later then rain moving in off and on until Thursday. Might get some flurries Wednesday night.

Strange how that works, we have had many dry summers/falls in a row, this is not one of them. We have received a bit of rain every few days for the last 6? weeks? It's really nice to finally see some moisture in the ground, and the creek is running at a decent pace for this time of year. Daily afternoon/evening fires, almost have the ugliest and the bark burned up in the upstairs insert.

I’m in the same boat with no rain for months. The Jennings creek fire is literally my backyard. These are pictures you never want to see and they are from my deck. If you zoom in on the second picture you’ll see it’s a chinook flying over with its water bomb. I have blackhawks and chinooks flying over my home every 2-3 minutes for the past week dropping water on this thing.

My daughter was on a bus from a sports trip today and Blue Hills was on fire! Rte 128 had lots of smoke!

Going down to 33* for the overnight. Just lit the furnace. She's eating some maple splits and today's harvest of a couple dead honey locust limbs. They were headed for the chipper until I heard the sound of baseball bats smack together. Couple pieces of that in now, with more on deck. Some sugar maple and ash rounds on deck too.
