We put in two loads of ironwood this morning for the colder weather coming in, I'll get that in the rack tonight or tomorrow morning. We'll either put in two more loads of maple tomorrow or switch over to getting some beech in.

The wife cut my hair this morning and then when I was loading the trailer with ironwood, I trusted a fart.......I won today! >>

Moved up a tote of mixed hardwoods then a tote of spruce. I got distracted with laying out pallets for a new split/stack area in the yard and forgot to get a pic of the spruce tote.

Yesterday I loaded and tossed 2 pickup loads into the basement. Another cord to play tetrus with while ''unclogging" the outside stairwell.

It's the second day in a row I plowed, we received another 5 plus inches of snow overnight, it was 9 degrees out when I started but no wind so it was actually nice out.

We have a Minimum Wind Chill of -12 tonight with a possible -25.

Split the dead oak that I got from the neighbors earlier. One wheelbarrow for me one for the (other) neighbors .
It read 20%, so it'll be good next year. They'll burn it this season.

Small job, but nice to split again.
Windy, 28. Nice to get back inside too.

4hrs of snow plowing earlier today. Got home and fed the furnace. Hour later I found my self under the kitchen in it's crawl space. Crawling around installing new heat tape to the water lines. They disappear under the other section of crawl space over the dividing foundation. Tomorrow I have to finish stacking my dump of splits to get under the other section of crawl space. Then I can finish running the heat tape and insulate the water lines. Feels like I'm being punished....LOL

Add on: the sink is running a good trickle. No freeze to happen.

Hopefully you are in a heated cab.
No, open to the cold air. The only part of me that started to cool off near the end was my feet, everything else was fine. If we would've had any winds, that would've been cold. I was outside for just over two hours before I came in.

I’m jealous that you can withstand those temps for so long. I’ve got a bad case of Raynauds, My hands go numb in 20 degree weather inside of 20 minutes.

Sunny and 43 right now. I spent several hours cutting and chipping in that big mess in front of the house. A lot of punky stuff I just cut and tossed into the woods to rot. Another couple of days down there and it should be in a lot better shape. Final goal is to be able to keep the boundary at the edge of the woods cleaned up during the summer with a brush cutter.

There are several big stumps I want to get ready to leave. Once I have a large dump truck load I'll call a buddy that'll come take them away.

Tree down and bucked. 30 rounds, 80 year old pitch pine, 15" at the bottom.

We put in a two loads of beech today, the mix of sugar & soft maple we put in over a week ago turned into more soft maple so that wasn't cutting it with these temps.

Love me some beech! With venison on the hoof! Hope I get a chance at one starting tomorrow for the holiday hunt. I haven't filled a single tag yet and by this time I'm losing ambition... At least the weather isn't super cold.

"Felt like" 3 degrees Fahrenheit in NJ today... fire was crackling but took a look at the thermostat wiring for my heat pump and what a nightmare. I have a 10kw heat strip kit that would only be called manually when hitting the button on the thermostat but I learned via tracing the wires that apparently my heat strip kit is called 2 different ways... using a different wire I was able to setup the ecobee so when the heat pump freezes and drops too much it will kick on the heat strips. Wish I knew sooner, 100kwh today later... but currently sitting warm and need to process a bunch of rounds I found on the side of the road. My seasoned stuff is almost used up but going to be mid 50s later this week. I hope everyone has an awesome holiday!

I measured 10 inches of snow in the driveway from what we received overnight, less in the woods but I did more plowing.

We have a forecast for half an inch of rain coming in on Saturday night and Sunday, more plowing will get done along with putting the three point sander on, hopefully the rain takes whatever snow is left on the driveway.

Decided to repurpose an old ax head into a pickaroon and popped a handle on it today. Gave it a test run on a face cord of oak and I really like it. So much faster for picking up splits off the ground and loading into the wagon.

May be a bit more of a hookeroon than a pickeroon but awesome none the less.
Love repurposed stuff.

Yeah I think that slight hook to the tip makes it function better. I'm able to stab pieces in the end or side grain and it holds which makes it fast to use.
