I think that’s a good idea to just take a bit of a break and then see where to head in. I’m not sure what I’d do in your situation. I have not regretted my Switzer buy, and I’ve had to do very little maintenance on it. No hoods, no fire balls, no smoke pouring out, no adjusting the turbolators, etc. I’m not downing any brands that need this done because I haven’t used them. There would perhaps be things about those other brands that I’d like. The truth also is that I wouldn’t be able to afford a Switzer right now; I’m glad I bought it when I did. Ultimately, you will make the decision that fits your life, and it will be the right one for you.
I sure would miss the warm floors, though, if I went to only my back up forced air heat.
