Some more oak shorties, an ash shorty and a split of maple.

So the GFs 23yr old brat put laundry in last night. In the process he tossed blankets, backed by a basket of laundry, in front of the heat register. The laundry room is over the crawl space section of the house. Last night's wind chill was -26*, if I recall. An hour ago he was all pissed off that the washer never drained. Washer is frozen under it's tub.

Sighhh.....ya can't fix it.

Got the dragon breathing hard now with honey locust, red oak, couple splits of hickory, and one 4-5'' black ash round. Temps are 13* with a -22* wind driven chill.

Tonight is the last of the weather advisory's...for now?
“Extreme Cold Warning” - Dangerously low windchillls as low as -45f could cause frostbite in as little as 10 minutes. Warning expires Feb 19th at 9:00am.

It had better be at least 15f tomorrow morning at 9:00am. That’d feel quite tropical. School is already 2hrs late tomorrow so I doubt I’ll get my wish. Canceled today because of the cold.

The spruce of this morning is done after 12 hrs. That surprised me, given the cold weather and wind outside. It was sunny, so that likely helped a lot.
21 outside now, with a wind chill of 11. Going down to 15.
Upstairs is 70 and the stove was reloaded with red oak.

4 ash, 2 beech and 2 ironwood rounds. Oddly enough I feel that a row of premiums on top of a row of ash performs better than a load of mostly premiums... The full premium loads I've run have been underwhelming.
I've been finding similar results. For me either ash or norway maple work towards the same as your findings. Although, since I've got that huge dragon's belly, on an overnight the big coal load will still spew some BTU long after recognizable splits.

I hope nothing is damaged...
Just my pride...LOL. 1:30am, again, and we both woke on the couches again. GF went to bed after putting load of wash in the dryer. Washer worked without a further hiccup. Surprisingly to me, it's 11yrs old ..... knock on firewood.
