I’m off grid in a dry log cabin. I do have a separate sauna/bath house where my well water is piped into. The water line is buried 6’ down with insulation on top and there’s a weeping hole 15’ down so all the water drains down to that level after use.
Dang got to be a cold pee running outside at midnight.

Stuffed as full as possible with 3 large oak splits. Cant see in the pic unfortunately but the top split is touching the secondaries baffle.

I was going to say he has a honey bucket, but a composting toilet is much better...

Currently a huge pile of coals being burned down with bark. Just threw my 4th round of bark in, probably at least one more yet. Gives a quick burst of heat but not enough to affect temperature upstairs. I can get stt up between 450 & 500, but that's just not enough or for long enough with this bitter cold and wind...

The dragon's midnight snack consists of a chef's salad of, 2 sugar, 6 red oak splits and 2 short chunks, 1 pignut hickory, 1 black locust split, 1 white oak short chunk, and 1 cherry split for a bit of extra flavor. This was all tossed on a coal bed with some barely recognizable splits on top of sugar, ash, and cherry. The chunks are sitting up front at the base of the stack.

Currently 11* with a real feel of -10*.
Not bad in this old house. No serious drafts, and I'd guess temp to be high 60s, low 70s, depending on where in the house. Our bedroom, above the lair, maybe a biiitttt warmer. LOL

Woke up at 2:30 A. 22F outside.
Lots of big coals from last night's 9:30P oak load.
Loading 3 more oak splits, but not as big so they can light much faster, took 45 minutes last night for that big super tight pack to light up and it was still sluggish.
Already only a couple minutes in and draft is at 1/2.

Won't last nearly as long as last night so probably will reload around 5A if i'm awake.

15minutes in and 3/4 closed. good secondary roll. All set to go back to bed.

Is power supplied with a generator?

Woke about just before 3am. Snow on the ground. 20 outside. Not sure amount yet. Evening fire was out and stove still warm. House 69. Loaded with oak and maple. Going back to bed. Up in a few hours to shovel wife out so she can get to the hospital for work.

Had coals from my 3am fire. STT 250. Loaded with oak maple and elm. House 71 when I got up at 7. 19 outside.

Have today off so delaying the shoveling and snow blowing while I have coffee sitting by the stove.

930 Last night was a load of red oak and hard maple. It got down to low teens overnight so I had the fan on 1/3 setting.
House is 72. Will reload later this am before heading to work. Snow removal first, got a few inch by the looks of it.
