What moisture content is your wood at?Says in their manual if your glass door is turning brown, you're making creasote.
I don't know. Some has been cut and split for six years. Under cover in the barn. Earliest is three years. What moisture content is your wood at?
Ok that certainly shouldn't be an issueI don't know. Some has been cut and split for six years. Under cover in the barn. Earliest is three years.
VZ Defender?I want my (little too small) Wolfgang Defender back.
Like I said, three times now, I can controll the stove. I requires constant supervision though. If there is not a crack/air leak that opens up under temperature, I may have bought too much stove.Ok that certainly shouldn't be an issue
Trade you, even up if you got one.VZ Defender?
SBI makes 10X the stove that VZ does
What do you mean by it needs constant supervision?Like I said, three times now, I can controll the stove. I requires constant supervision though. If there is not a crack/air leak that opens up under temperature, I may have bought too much stove.
Absolutely correct. And the air intake at the top of the stove can leak CO when the fire dies down. I have had 2 separate customers with that issueVZ Defender?

I loved mine Just a little too small. You two work for SBI?Absolutely correct. And the air intake at the top of the stove can leak CO when the fire dies down. I have had 2 separate customers with that issue
Nah, I sent that thing packing...bought a nice Drolet 1400i stove...still an easy breather, but much more controllable in stock form.Trade you, even up if you got one.
So it will randomly drop from 400 to 200 with no input from you?Goes from 400 F to less thatn 200 F (158 F) at stove pipe exit temp . Can't keep it at a sweet spot. I would like to see 220 F (+/- 100F) exit temp. as kind of a constant.
Nope don't work for any stove company. I do sell regencies thoughI loved mine Just a little too small. You two work for SBI?
I have scrapped atleast 4 of them. Maybe moreNah, I sent that thing packing...bought a nice Drolet 1400i stove...still an easy breather, but much more controllable in stock form.
Nope, just have owned a few of their products...they make solid stuff and have good customer service...unlike VZ...they make knockoffs and their CS blows. You two work for SBI?
So does SBI's customer service. That's why I am here.Nope, just have owned a few of their products...they make solid stuff and have good customer service...unlike VZ...they make knockoffs and their CS blows.
It honestly sounds like you may have closed down the secondary air port to far at this pointNo. I run it up up to 300 stove pipe exit temp when stoked and then try to find the "sweet spot" to keep a roling flame. Right now I'm sitting in front of it (and adjusting air, damper and blower/fan three times) it's working fine. If I go way the fire will die or take off.
Not in my experience at all. Every time I have had to talk to them about a problem or an install they have been very goodSo does SBI's That's why I am here.
I don't know how the air distribution on your stove worksI have one air port at the bottom of the stove. Where is the secondary air port?
