No, this style is just a regular pex crimp fitting with a much larger, stainless steel crimp ring. The new fittings that came out a couple of years ago all have the crimp rings built in. However, the rings can be popped off fairly simple. Yes, the fittings can be re-used. However, Viega recently got greedy and stopped producing crimp rings separately. So, technically, if you mis-crimp a fitting, they want you to throw the whole fitting away and start over. Not a fan of that idea. I stocked up on crimp rings last year before they quit selling separately, so we'll see how long they last.
