Will my red oak be ready this winter?

Put in my backyard & it will be.103 today,101 right now. Plenty of wind most of the year,especially the past month.My part of the state its not as humid compared to the south & southeast.7 days 100 or above in past 3 weeks,3 days in a row twice so far.90 or above 25 days so far,usually its late August before we see that many.

Way I see it is if you burn your red oak this winter, you'll be out looking for more wood next spring for next winter. You might as well bite the bullet now, get something like cherry seasoning asap for this winter, save the red oak for next winter, and then next spring you can collect wood for the future in a more leisurely fashion. From my experience, once I was ahead, more decent wood seemed to come my way. Must be some sort of rule in there somewhere, like an inverse sods law........

Even with your heat and the drought, I do not believe your red oak went from 40% to 25% in 4 months. Did you get your MM at Harbor Freight? I know they run very optimistic.

If your weather is anything like I have here...you should be fine. Try to get ahead of the game for next year and no worries.
Its so dry here I have bull frogs that dont know how to swim...

General MM from Lowes. Long story but, I went from 1 cord of wood to 3 yr supply in Feb (built a new house and moved), so I should be good once it seasons.
