Got a mild week ahead. Bunch of pine chunks to burn.

The wife did all the burning yesterday except for the morning fire, I haven't been paying attention to the outdoor or indoor temps very much lately. I think it was around 25 this morning with the temps in here at 67.

I threw in a medium sized load of hardwoods to carry us through the night and most likely the day tomorrow. The stat will be turned down to low. I’ll be at work so I’ll task the wife with deciding weather we need to throw some on for tomorrow overnight. With the forecast temps tomorrow and the heat from this load she may not have to. We will see.

The stove went cold around noon.
Still 70 up here. Sunroom was 74 today, so the slider open provided more than enough heat. Minisplit will be on later tonight.
39 out now, going down to 35. Tomorrow 48.

Another chunk of buckthorn. I don't know how you guys load to the top with NS splits without melting your stoves. Three big splits gets me deep into the red zone with the air clamped all the way down. I guess that is a good problem to have?

Draft is probably strong... Before I installed my damper if I let it get too hot I couldn't hardly stop my stove. With the damper I have complete control.

Some stoves have much better air control than others. I can have mine fully loaded (4cf firebox) and it be fully involved I can pretty much extinguish the fire by closing the knob completely.

65 in the house this am on my arrival home from work, it seems the propane was cycling a bit through the night. I put in 5 splits of spruce to take the chill off. It should be close to 50 and sunny later today so I may be cracking a window open later. A little fresh air this time of year won’t hurt a thing 👍🏼☕️

Yesterday’s load before work. Was a bit much I think, house got up to 76-77 when no one was home. Didn’t light a fire when I got home this morning. Warm and sunny today. Just cleaned out some ashes. A fire would be too much. Probably do one for the over night tonight

The temps last night were in the low 30's. The stove received five splits of beech for the overnight fire, up here this morning the temps were 68 & 69.

Today we've been burning some not so great birch, perfect timing for that.

No fire this morning, house was still warm from the overnight load. Worked at my sister's all day. Got home and the house was chilly so have a small shoulder season load going. We'll see how the temps are later and decide if another shoulder season load is needed before the overnight. Currently 36 and drizzly. Was a cloudy day so no solar gains.

36/72 beautiful sunny and 50 today. Just loaded up 5 splits of Aspen for the evening fire. The Aspen works great for these warmer days and nights. I can really crank the Fireview down for a low even output.

Nothing too exciting this morning, 4 larger splits of spruce and 1 piece of cherry. It’s around 40, cloudy with drizzle and will pretty much be on an off the rest of the day. This load should kill the dampness. Looking now it was 64 in the house as I turned off the heat yesterday am.
It looks like it will be cold again starting Sunday in the northeast, I’m sure the activity will pick up again on this thread!
👍🏼☕️
