Coldest morning so far at 36 so had a good fire going. Using mainly smaller splits of Oak, maple, ash and birch. I also have a pallet of uglies I’m mixing in. House was 67 when I got up so home stayed warm from last nights fire.

I’m into a couple cords of spruce I split back in ‘22. Perfect for the early season.

We have an outside temp of 34.5 tonight with a forecast low of 29. The basement is starting out at 75 with the temps up here 70 & 71, the wood stove has a load of pine in it for the overnight load.

I started a fire after supper, I'm still warming up from working in the brook today. I think we have a low of around 30 for tomorrow morning.

Load of pine in. Been enjoying this cool snap, highs in the upper 50s/low 60s and lows in the low 30's. Just right for a little evening fire. Maybe even still cool enough in the morning to be able to enjoy a morning fire with my coffee.

We have a load of pine going in the wood stove for overnight heat. The outside temp is 37.8 tonight, the basement temp started off at 75 with the temps up here 71 & 72.

37 outside this morning. House is 64 inside. Got a larger small split fire going to warm the house up.

Will be the last fire for awhile since temps projected to be warm over the next week. Still covering my last tomato plant!

I did start a fire this morning even though we should hit 66.

The outside temp tonight is 40.3, the basement temp is starting out at 73 with the temps up here 70 & 71. The wood stove has another load of pine in it for some overnight heat.

We had 36.7 this morning, the basement started out at 70 with the temps up here 69. We have a fire going in the wood stove this morning.

Looks like Wednesday we drop back into 50s so we will likely go back to 1 fire a day then. Stove has been hanging out bored.
Same here. Going to have a fire outside in the fire pit maybe tonight after the wind dies down and burn some scraps and branches to clean some things up a little better for showings on the house.

We had a low of 46 this morning with a forecast high of 76 today, just another day of saving some pine. The cold front moves in tomorrow afternoon or night with possible thunderstorms.

What's in my stove right now? About 2 quarts of last year's leftovers. My dirtiest year for sure.

Last year, there was a fair amount of discussion about surface temp of double wall pipe. I bought in to some of the "best guess" figures and thought that I probably was running things a little hot on average. I consciously made an effort to tone things down a bit, especially after reload, without actually putting in a flue thermometer to verify things.
This year, I'm thinking I probably will go ahead and put that thermometer in. Burning nearly all pine with a strong draft. That reload likes to get out and run a little if I don't stay right on top of it.
We're not nearly cold enough for anything else in my stove yet. Maybe in a week or so we'll finally hit those normal fall temperatures.
