Seasoned wood charring, cant keep temps in house up

In my head I worried any creosote would fall down and collect right in front of my stove discharge and cause a fire. ( I lived through a chimney fire scary stuff.) But this stove make minimal ash

Some folks attach a chunk of liner under the tee and then the cap far below. This gives a "sump" for the debris to fall. Sometimes that allows the cap to be way down by the old cleanout door.
 
As I read over this thread which has now come to a conclusion, I'm still left wondering: OK well you missed that cap and so really crushed your draft but...what about the 2 years it was said to have run just fine??

Don't remember if I said 2 years. But maybe they were mild winters and I didn't notice a drop off, also I was kind of new to these stoves. Wasn't until I got on the Facebook page and started noticing people's burn times, hot fire box and cleaned glass, and a colder winter last year that I realized something was wrong
