The HD in Manchester, NH is finally out of FSU's. When I went in earlier today they were out but the truck had just come in so I waited for about 15 minutes for them to bring skids out. Turns out they are Therma Glo's so I grabbed 6 bags to try out. Will head to the Concord HD later and see if they have FSU's (that is what I like to burn in the Hastings - or rather, whtat the Hastings likes to burn)

Sometimes I wonder just how many different pellets there are versus brands?

Back on track or done...sorry it always starts slow then poof....
So nice of you to chime in! A day w/o a mod is like a day w/o sunshine. :)

Anyway, just went to TSC to grab some horse bedding softees to try. They have O'Malleys. Passed. Checked out Lowes, HD: Guess what? They are all advertising "Seasonal Clearance!" Seeds are already in! Yeah, sure, "Shortage." My Do-It has plenty of Lignetics. Poor and unresponsive buying isn't a shortage.

The TSC pine bedding pellets aren't bad really. They will do in a pinch and smell good too.

Can I ask that you post your results in my ThermaGlo thread in the pellet reviews subforum? I just cleaned my stove after I used 10 bags of those pellets this past week and I can now finally say that I've found a pellet that I found overly dirty. Usually the ash just wipes off my door glass with a dry paper towel, this time I had to scrub hard with the Rutand cleaner to get it off. My fiber board now has permanent stains on it that can't be scraped or vacuumed off. I had a mountain of ash on the door after just 3 days, beside the burn pot had ash piled up nearly to the height of the burn pot. Even after 2 weeks with FSUs I never saw that much buildup. I may check Londonderry HD to see if they still have FSUs. I could use another 10 bags anyway.

You might want to buy a 3x5 pad of green Scotchbrite (get a couple actually), it works much better )with some windex and last forever too. I doo the Windes spritz, a scotchbrite rub and towel it off with a paer towel that gets tossed in the burn pot when the fire gets going.....

Thanks for the advice. :) Usually just a dry paper towel gets it clear. Since I have the Rutland cleaner, I use that as one little bottle will likely last me for a lifetime as I use just a tiny bit when I need it.

A sure sign of spring is the seed catalogs in the mailbox. Seed porn is great. My plants never seem to reach the vibrant levels the seed catalogs portray... must be good Photoshopping at work.

Ummmmm. The stated US corporate tax rate is the highest in the industrialized / free world. According to the world Bank it's effective rate is 27.9% for 2014 where the agregate outside is a bit over 15%. According to various sources when state and local taxes are included this rate is over 39%.

The figures are in for 2014? According to GAO the effective corporate tax rate was 12.6. Including state and local taxes it goes to 16.9.

http://money.cnn.com/2013/07/01/news/economy/corporate-tax-rate/

The OECD average is 27.7. So even if your quoted 27.9 was accurate that puts us as average. It is wrong to take corporate taxes in a vacuum also because you need to look at individual tax rates in those countries.

And why do corporations need to pay taxes? Here are a couple reasons.
Corporate profits depend on tax-financed public goods: healthy and educated workforces; good infrastructure; publicly enforced respect for contracts and property rights, and so on. When corporations avoid or evade tax, legally or illegally, they free ride on the backs of the rest of us.
Corporation taxes are an essential backstop to personal income tax. Cut them to zero, and wealthy individuals will increasingly reclassify their earnings as corporate income, typically using offshore corporate structures, and escape tax.

Corporations seem to be doing just fine.
Corporate Profits Are At An All-Time Record Peak And Expected To Grow in 2014
Above is a quote from Forbes.
