Hey all - been enjoying my Osburn Inspire 2000 for the last year, and am using it as my primary source of heat this winter. I'm using fans to better circulate the heat and move it to the rooms that are connected to the open layout living room, where the stove was installed within a totally open fireplace.

Been thinking about upgrading my game and buying the blower and thermodisc, and wanted to ask a few questions for folks that are using these:
1) When the blower is installed, where does the air come out? The front of the unit?
2) Is the blower fairly easy to install?
3) How loud is the blower on low and high? Read some reviews where it can be super noisy
4) Does the thermodisc work as advertised? Would you recommend using it?

Thanks for the help!

[Hearth.com] Osburn Inspire 2000 Stove - Blower and Thermodisc Questions

A blower will help circulate the heat. Is there a gap between the stove top and stove body? Is so, typically the blower blows through this gap. The stove Osburn blower is not very noisy except on high speed.
As an alternative a freestanding fan that blows room air across the stove body will also work. There are some nice quiet units out by Vornado and others. Even a table fan would work. SBI makes a thermodisc setup that any 120v fan can plug into.

I have the same insert but bought it with the blower already installed. To help answer your questions though:
1. The hot air comes out between the top of the stove and the convective jacket on the front.
2. N/A
3. The blower only has one fan speed, high. It's moderately loud but I just tuned it out after awhile and you get used to it. I wish there was a low setting but I'm looking into a variable fan speed controller for this.
4. The thermo disc works as intended and I always leave it on "Auto", unless it's a cold start or reloading.

It's surprising there is no speed regulation on this unit's blower. The Osburn blower is supposed to have this. Did the dealer put a generic blower on it?

Here is the factory blower listed on Osburn's website for the Inspire: AC03095 Blower Assembly with Variable Speed Control (Up to 130 CFM) Plugs into Wall Outlet

Ah I neglected to tell OP that my version of the stove is the insert. The standalone stove has a variable speed blower but the insert does not. I wonder if I can swap mine out with the variable one?

What a really nice photo of a beauty burn happening. Impressive.
I'd add a vote for trying the factory fan. Most shielded stoves I've been around really put out much more heat with the fan kit.
Let us know how things work out.

I suspect not. They have a different form factor with single vs dual fan cages. A fan control is showing on page 16 of the 2000 manual for the insert. It's odd that there isn't on on your stove but maybe this is a documentation error. One could be added.

FWIW, I have a Matrix and there are only 3 fan settings. Off, on and automatic.
