They seem reluctant. Not sure why? Is it that much work?
The plate is really simple to make and no one will see it so it doesn't have to be pretty. Did you look at the links? Just make one out of carboard that fits pretty well in there. Then cut a piece of sheet metal to match it.
The same reason many install the cheapest possible liner and most do it without insulation. To keep the install price down so they sell more stoves.I don't understand why a professional dealer would not know to install a block plate
Yeah I could easily make one, but I am very busy and I kind of feel like why should I? I paid money for the install, I just want it done right. They did get back to me and said they found it in the Jotul book and would calling me for a install date.
Most of us are busy but still find time to process and burn woodSo you are really busy? How could you have time to burn wood?

we do it with all installs in fireplaces but it is not the industry standared so it should not be expected so you need to ask and you should expect to pay more. We dont charge extra for it but we are also far from the cheapest guys around. If I were the installers I wouldn't install it for free as it's not a necessity. Did you tell them you wanted the block off plate when they gave you the estimate?
Beats me lolIf you are really in need of a tractor, how could you have time to post on hearth.com?

Not sure what you are getting at? yeah I'm busy with my job, my kids and stacking and splitting wood. Just like many here.So you are really busy? How could you have time to burn wood?
Hi Chanlon- Beauty of a stove and its my favorite enamel finish too. Good dry seasoned wood, keep her between 400-600 degrees stovetop temp and you'll be warm for years, good luck with her.
Just giving you a hard time. By the way that stove looks really good in front of that fireplace. Whats the old saying? If you want something done right you have to do it yourself. Hey some things are best left to the professionals, when I was trying to drill my plate into the firebrick with a square drive it slipped and I drilled my finger fun times. Not sure what you are getting at? yeah I'm busy with my job, my kids and stacking and splitting wood. Have a stove in a fireplace for ten years. Ya need it. Believe me. Ten bucks worth of sheet metal and an hours labor pays you back with heat forever.
