Log load- $1000.00 delivered good deal?

Personally, if I was the OP, I would buy a load. Try it out. Win or lose...
Worse case scenario is you are out of 200.00 or 300.00 but you will still have fuel. You will have bragging...or complaining rights.

My guess would be 7-8. Idk I would have a hard time shelling out that kind of money without knowing exactly what I was getting in return

You're doing all the labor. They drop it off that's their labor. It would also depend on the kind of wood. 1000.00 sounds like a lot.

My wife's grandfather lives not far from the OP. Earlier last year he got an order of logs like this. Was told 60 face cords or 20 cords. They were all no larger than 8 inch rounds. He paid 2000. I found it enticing though not for me. He uses a wood fired furnace and will put them in as rounds. Should last him at least 3 winters.

We get log loads here in S.E. WI for $50 a cord from local tree trimming companies. All hickory, maple, ash, cherry and mulberry. Nothing over 20" round, 6-7 cord loads. Looks like we're doing pretty good as to early stated prices?

I paid $500 for a 10 wheeler load of oak logs last spring, stacked out just shy of 6 cord....... That's got to be 7 or 8 cord

Around my parts in WI full logs are about $80-100 per cord.

I bought a half load (6 cord/$600) last summer, cut it and split it, and sold it for $100 truck load....seems to be the going rate for oak here in the fall. I ended up making about $1100 cash so it was worth the work. Basically made 500 bucks
