I am putting a probe in this spring to measure the flue temp but when burning good with air open. You actually heat the flue real hot as all the heat is going up the chimney. Right about 600-625 is the stoves sweet spot. Burns real slow and uses little wood. I would assume it is different when using as a freestanding unit.
