Yeah that was my plan
On my princess with duravent dvl the adapter makes the best fit. Do note that you might find a blob of weld that can be removed to improve the fit. You really want a good seal. Especially with the ashford.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info. Either way I’ll probably see what fits better, adapter or no adapter.

That’s the best plan if it’s possible. Unfortunate neither stove collar or pipe diameters are standardized. It’s like a sick joke.

We have Fire! Picked up the stove today and got everything connected. Stove pad is a 48x48 tile. Randomly thought of the idea one day that they might have tile that big. Much cheaper then ember protectors and pads only cost about $81 with tax.

Congratulations! Looks like the DVL pipe was a direct fit.

Hard to see with the black on black, but the DVL stove adapter is in a 6" section. This looks different.

A little update, been mostly happy with the stove. I think with my insulation with this colder weather I probably should have gone with the sirrocco or princess rather than a cast iron clad ashford but not biggie just just a bit more wood. It’s been so cold I haven’t had a chance to let the stove go out and finally did overnight to do a cleaning today, and it’s a tad irritating as I only have like ~1.5 cords through this stove. I thought something may be up as I would see more whisps of smoke here and there. I’ve checked all moisture content as I went through different woods. Highest I ever saw was 20.5% on a piece or 2.

I think the whisps of smoke may be due to the cat separating from its frame. It allows smoke to pass through.
We've seen this in two other threads here. I suspect a bad batch of cats.
I think BK (via its cat mfg) should provide a new cat as having this count towards your (only) free cat sucks because it's (seemingly) an issue with some recent purchases.

Other than that, it doesn't look bad. A bit of ash can always end up on the cat depending on how you rake coals.etc. or if you have (too) much draft.

Yeah definitely don’t have too much draft Yeah I’d much rather have a ceramic cat. The one in my buck 80 is holding up good, I’ve had it ~4 years and I don’t even know how old it was before I got it. And I abused that thing with subpar wood before I got caught up on wood.

The cat separating from the frame for three of BK owners seems very odd. I honestly think it was a bad batch of cats and it should definitely not count against the one freebie under warranty. @BKVP any input?

I’m leaning that way. I’ve seen people also their cat gauge will peg when it’s newer, my gauge has never gone past the word active on mine with the fan off which I find pretty odd.

That's not right.
Do you see smoke?

Every once and a while I’ll noticed smoke here and there but nothing constant . I mean the whole cat will glow pretty bright. Like right now I have about a 2/3-3-4 load in even with dial around 5 o’clock still in the first half of the word active.

I wonder if it's miscalibrated

Forgot to post back after I let the stove cool again looks like it went down to the correct spot when cool so don’t think that was any issue.
@BKVP when I warranty this cat out at the end of the season. Are we getting steel or ceramic cats as replacement? Or is it random. Just curious, as I’d prefer ceramic.

My metal cats clogged and separated like that . Very short lifespans. I have Lots of draft, use a turn style damper . Trying a ceramic. Working good so far.

Same combustor as EPA tested...

I.e. the one it came with when you bought it (new)

Call the dealer. They'll initiate the process. When new arrives at dealer, take them yours and they'll swap them.
