We got 2 more inches overnight.
No wind, so the trees look beautiful.

Dang you're young.
Isn't that where they filmed some Alone season?

Lol. I don't feel young most days.

No, they filmed Alone Season 6 on the shore of Great Slave Lake, which is up in the North West Territories. Lesser Slave Lake is in Alberta.

The lakes are connected by a river system, hence why the fur traders gave them the same name.

Ah. My brother was somewhere up there last year (yeah, I know it may be a thousand miles away...) working on some wind turbines. Both in AK and I'm Canada.

It changed from snow to rain, the roads are getting slick. After filling up the Rhino, I had two five gallon gas cans empty with one 2.5 gallon gas can empty, all are full.

The power just went off & on twice, will it be another day of running the generator for a few hours?

I'm glad the snow was moved yesterday, that chit will be heavy after the rains today.

Well, this storm has developed nicely. Yesterday afternoon on the ground
was 4 inches of snow. Got up this morning with a new snowfall of 16.2 inches
and they say another 5 to come. Wife was hoping where she works would be closed
Well, nothing plowed as yet so I took her the 18 miles to work in the plow . Plowed
the Concession rd so others could get out. Hight way was not too bad not plowed
but some traffic over it. I guess we get tomorrow without any snow then Saturday
and Sunday another dump of 14 inches. Barely get any snow all winter and get a year
worth in 5 days. Once they groom the trails Ski Dooing is going to be fantastic

Went out and shoveled several inches of sludge yesterday evening. Got about 3" of snow overnight. The system that was supposed to be a fast mover, dump some snow and a bit of freezing rain on top, ended up sticking around and dumping freezing drizzle and rain all day. Meant the snow blower was useless so I didn't' even try. Dug out the gate fences and the path from the back door to one of those gates. Then went to tackle the Explorer and driveway.

I got about 1/3 of the driveway, along the front and drivers side of the truck (to the edge of the driveway, which is only a couple of feet), and gave up. It was just to heavy and sloppy to throw. Earlier in the day I'd had the thought to get on the town FB page and see if someone wanted to come shovel the driveway for some $$, I should have listened to myself.

Temps dropped to the 20's after dark and this is the warmest night for the next week. With highs in the teens and low 20's and lows in the single digits to maybe up to the low teens for the next week, it will all be a solid block of ice. Guess I'll be spreading sand today. Can hardly wait for the snow starting tomorrow into Sunday - and maybe into Monday (depending on who you listen too).

Woke up around 1am to the sound of the wind howling and it's supposed to stick around for a few days. Fun times.

NOAA is calling for another 11.3 inches of snow for our area starting tomorrow later in the day. By the sounds of it, the snow will be heavy with wind, maybe I'll get another five gallons of diesel.

Here we go again calling for 20 to 25 inches over the weekend
Think I'll top off the Backhoe and plug the old beast in just so I can
make the piles higher with the bucket and do the final cleanup with the plow
Now I see why the better half was showing me Brochures for Holidays in Portugal
Hint Hint Hint 😃

I just shoveled a bit of snow on the edge of my roof off. I have a little ice dam forming over my gutters. I’m not sure if my gutters are filled or it’s on the top of my gutter guards. Either is possible, I guess. I bought a 20 ft heat tape and layed it on top of the ice. I think I might get it under the gutter guards next fall to make sure they can stay clear.

Then I’ll have to wonder if my underground drain lines would freeze, lol.

I just saw the latest update from The Weather Channel, they say we could get 18 to 24 inches of wet heavy snow when this system (Jett) moves out on Monday.

It looks like those areas I moved snow from will get filled back up again.

Monday morning the sun is shining and it is cold 2 days of heavy snow
26 inches here. But it was windy so 6 ft. drifts. I plowed the lane twice
and it drifted in less than an hour . Going to get at her now. Going to
start with the Back Hoe and finish with the plow Going to be a long day .
We have more snow now than we have had in the last 4 years.

I'm not sure how much we received but it was nasty plowing with the wind we're having. The only good thing is all the snow we received was sugar snow.

Any areas that I had moved snow from or pushed back are full again, hopefully we get a break from the btb snowstorms.

I wasn’t sure I would get my doors open this morning. About 7pm we switched from a heavy rain to snow. It was 16 when I woke up this morning. I kinda-sorta figured I’d have ice cubes in my driveway that kinda sorta looked like vehicles.

I don't envy you folks with 10 polar vortexes so far this year. That's got to be getting old by now.
It gets to you after almost a full month of snow and this week we have colder weather here. Today was the first time this year that I said screw the trail plowing, we have just enough ice underneath the snow that pushing 15 plus inches can be tough.

I'll be using the snowblower so I can get to our wood stacks, but first I'll do the area where we put in our firewood.

This weekend was one of the nastier storms I've dealt with. We had 8" of heavy snow followed by an inch of rain, then it dropped down to 18 degrees last night and we're looking at single digits / below freezing temps for at least another week. I now have a bank of solid ice blocking my mailbox. No shovel or snowblower can touch it. DPW gave up plowing the road it's just a sheet of ice.

I was glad I waited until Monday morning to take care of the mess. received several more inches of snow, and the wind kicked up pretty good blowing it into the pathways I keep clear. I did my snow clearing 6:30 until 8:00 am since the wind was supposed to really come barreling down. Fortunately my cold weather riding gear (from when I had a motorcycle) does an excellent job of keeping me warm and dry even with the snow blowing all around and back into me.

Antrim is the next town over and only about 2 miles straight down my road and Sunapee is about 7 miles away from (as the crow flies) on the other side of me

How are you guys even able to get to work with all that snow all the time? I can’t imagine the roads are good enough to drive on after a day with that much snow.

Well if your boss has half a brain they will be understanding about getting in late due to the conditions and the cleanup effort. But a lot of people especially working in critical jobs will just have to get up at 4:30 to shovel themselves out and allow a ton of extra time. The roads are usually passable at a slow pace if you have the right tires.

I'm not sure how much higher I can go but the snow further down the driveway will need moving again since the last storm made the driveway narrower but still passable.
