Cold is coming down from Canada for those living east of the Rockies. Stock up those wood boxes.

We did that, two loads of maple, the beech is at the other end of the stack but we have some ironwood and some beech inside too.

If it's the wet heavy snow with winds, we could see some power outages.

Most of the snow had melted off by yesterday. Grass/weeds are still green. The snow pack insulated it against the negative Lows and highs in the low teens. I figured it would all be dormant since the ground has been frozen since Thanksgiving.

Now we are getting a bunch of rain - it is freezing on contact to the ground (I almost had an oopsy when I went out a while ago). May turn to a mix, or snow later - depends on how the system shifts. I'm right on the edge of all the lines they have drawn and at a lower elevation, so 2 miles east of me (up the hill by 600' in elevation) may be all snow.

Edited at 3:05am: Normally we don't get thunder this time of year - but just had some rumbling and crackling.

We only received five inches of snow, the Lake Effect missed us which is nice. Looking at the new forecast, it looks like the Lake Effect will stay well south of us.
