The PNW is getting rain, and then rain, followed by rain. My weather station claims around 5" over the past week, and I think it's reading low. Lots of flooding. Not unusual for this area.

Overnight lows and daytime highs both in the mid-40s dF. NOAA predicts overnight lows in the low-to-mid 30s by the end of the week.

It snowed all day here. I need to do roof work tomorrow. I have a big job Thursday and Friday where I have a lot of roof work. I hope the snows off. Snow on the roof just makes everything more stressed.

Be safe up there Matt.

We kept off the roof until today. The snow quickly melted off and we were able to get up and get our work done.

They had back the wind forecast down earlier but when I checked before getting on here, I saw this. We either get grouped in with the weather forecast north of us by 40 miles or in with Saranac Lake NY, hopefully this misses us.

..WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING...* WHAT...Heavy wet snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches, with localized 12 to 18 inches possible across the central and northern Green Mountains of Vermont.* WHERE...Portions of northern New York and parts of central and northern Vermont, including the Northeast Kingdom.* WHEN...From Sunday evening through Monday evening.* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult, especially Sunday night into Monday, including the Monday morning commute. Scattered power outages are possible.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates on Monday morning could exceed 1 inch per hour. Furthermore, gusty northwest winds 25 to 35 mph could produce additional power outages on Monday afternoon into Monday night.

I saw something on that coming through, but didn’t click on the article.

I still need to get a scraper.

I’m just south of Watertown in the tug hill area. I’m curious how much snow we’ll get. Some of the 18” we got over a week ago is still on the ground…

It’s supposed to rain Sunday though. Hopefully all the old snow will melt before we get new snow. Lol

Well, you aren’t Buffalo. That should be inches, lol.

Snow is all gone here. We now have mud.

Accu is calling for a total of 2 - 4 inches of snow and NOAA is calling for 8 plus inches of the wet heavy stuff.

Looking like good scrounging weather along the New England coast after the high winds and rain Sunday Night into Monday. My guess is lots of trees end up on the ground looking for a home.

You can spend some time lovingly detailing your saw! Clean vehicles always run better. Saws probably do too. But I have to admit, my saw maintenance of that sort is scraping oil caked sawdust off with a screwdriver.

I like to blow mine off and out with compressed air after a day of work, but will admit I don't actually do this as often as I should. Too many days spent cutting and splitting end after dark, fumbling to get things cleaned up and put away, after several hours out in the cold, while being scolded to hurry up and get inside for dinner already.

This is exactly what I did for a good 45 min. I sharpened the chain, filed the rakers (hadn't been done in a while), then spent 30 min scraping out all the gunk. I use the screwdriver end of the chainsaw wrench lol. Works just fine. She started up first pull after the TLC. The rain held off and I got a good dozen cuts in before it started.

I am in the same boat but it's more "get in here and make dinner" since I'm the cook lol.

It drizzled at my house all day. The heavier rain started just a little while ago. I got a chance to cut down a decent size ash tree. One of those trees that branches out a bit. It probably has a 1/2 a cord of wood in it. Got it all blocked and sitting by the splitter. I used the battery saw for everything except the main trunk.

Our snow forecast for tomorrow keeps going down. I think they’re calling for an inch of wintry mix now.

Been raining since yesterday - sometimes lightly, sometimes heavily. Ground is frozen below the top 1/4-1/2" so most of it is just running off. Or in my case pooling. I currently have a nice stream in my back yard. Put out my rain guage to see how much I get but am not going out to look at it in the dark.

Last I knew, they backed off the wind forecast somewhat so most of it will stay by the coast. Of course being in a valley, sometimes it funnels the wind and we have localized much higher wind than other places in the area. Up north could get a bunch of snow after the rain.

As of 12:02 am this morning, this is what we are supposed to get on top of what has already fallen. Those northern rain amounts are before the snow

It is possible I could get a trace up to 2" of snow as I'm right on that line.

We had rain last night. A touch of snow this morning. I heard my sump pump kick on a few times.

It's bad down here. My yard is underwater. Firewood out back won't be accessible for at least a few days. Thankfully I always have a weeks worth in the basement before storms.

We were talking about what we were going to have for supper when we had a small earthquake, 2.8. It was northwest of us by about 20 to 25 miles or so.
