ashfull, you probably know this, how think of steel does BK use on the inner portion of the ashford? I believe the princess is .250.
You'd better measure, the princess uses really thin metal. Kinda silly thin but seems to hold up. Even the top doesn't seem to measure up to 0.250"
More like half that for the sides. I saw "10 GA." on their website for the firebox walls..that's barely over 1/8". BKVP said the top of the box is 1/4", that'd be legit. But Highbeam says no..?
Search on the other forum, "Corrosion hole in BlazeKing." Hey, if I'm gonna pay big bucks for a stove, I don't wanna see 'em cutting corners on quality and materials. ;hm
BKVP makes no bones about it:
Now back to the most important issue, where did all the big bucks go?
;) ;lol

Yep, not a thick steel type of stove. I didn't say no, but that it doesn't even seem to be 0.250" and I looked last night again and still think it falls short. No fancy machinist measuring tools though! The NC30 manufacturer claimed 0.250" and I measured with a real tape measure 3/16" so maybe it's a nominal thing like a 2x4 stick of lumber isn't really 2" thick.

For sure we have @Woody Stover back. Hey woody, did you move the bed closes to the stove for this winter already?

I thought everyone on my ignore list had since been banned... but Highbeam is arguing with invisible people, so I guess not! <>

With you there, buddy. It turns out that ignorance really *is* bliss.

So no one likes woody stover? seems like a nice guy to me.

Didn’t forget but disregarded the trolling. See, those epa output ratings are not dependable information. Any manufacturer could put whatever they want. In the future, we might get more accurate numbers but not now. We all know that no other stove can do 30 hours on low or too hot for my safety on high.

None, no matter what the other trolls told you.
I am sorry but i am really disappointed in the heat output on high from the princess. From what i have seen so far i am very sceptical that it will have the btis i need on cold windy nights. It is fantastic on low but that is only part of what is needed.

Unlike

Unlike that it's not putting out the heat like you like..
Mine on the coldest and windiest days never goes past the 4 oclock setting, other than startup..
No i am not saying i dislike it. Just that it doesnt burn that high. I knew that from the start. I though i had dine enough sealing up and insulating that it would keep up but i am not sure. Time will tell.

Remember that black peice of metal with the 3" sleve and screen I left with you ??
I promise you'll see a difference !!

I will try it but it will have to be hooked to a 24' pipe to reach daylight without being above the stove. I generally have not had good results with intakes that long.

must be operator error, wet wood, bad chimney, fans out of sync, So now I guess I'm in trouble again

Or the stove specs are right and they dont make the same btus as many other stoves as the numbers say.

And you can pick on me all you want i am not new here with serious safety issues. And you arent going to chase me away.

Well my princess cranks right up there, as a matter of fact we were discussing princess and ashford comparisons yesterday. one thing Im having an issue with is, the princess i can load wood when it time to, close the bypass and the cat temp climbs as high the 2 o'clock position even when the air control is turned down low, not on the hole, but lets just say a low setting. I assume that's a good thing and the way the stove is supposed to work. The ashford sorta does the same thing, but never goes much above the 12 o'clock may 1 position. same wood, same length of chimney approximately. the only difference is the princess is straight up and the ashford is two 90's before straight up, so maybe less draft? No air leakes, have checked that
