Yeah, that's not bad but did he split it by hand?we'll definitely have to add a couple more categories to the club, you've blown the whole thing out of the water!
Check his signature.Do you have more than one stove in your house?
He said around four. Doesn't seem like all that much considering his location. How many cord a year would you say you burn?
That's what my relatives call mine, but I think it just got demoted to the "Half-way decent Wall of China."Your work comes closes to rivaling the great wall of China as far as man made wonders of the world!
I can cut a lot here, but will go offsite if there's primo wood that I don't get much of here or that doesn't often die, like White Oak or Hickory. I don't have any Black Locust or Hedge-apple on the property here, and little soft Maple and Black Cherry. I like to have some of that medium-heat stuff on hand as well to round out stacks, which consist of a lot of the Red Oak types. If I had to haul it all home in the truck like some of you guys do I would have been heating with propane by now !!
How long does that bit stay sharp? Are they expensive to replace?I only have a small saw (026) but keep it razor sharp using the Timberline sharpener
I'll mostly split horizontal unless they are big rounds I don't want to lift, risking injury. I can toss the splits further and it's easier to grab more wood. Can't split by hand, hurts way too much ! There are many days I wish I had a vertical splitter but the one I have works so well I can't justify another one.
Where is Dennis?? Maybe he has seen this thread and would like to compliment the man, but can't bring himself to do it because the wood is stacked on pallets.
At least there are no t-posts.
I'll tell ya what.....you line me up with a place to hunt a moose or even a good afternoon of some walleye fishin', I'll come up and do that tree for ya....no charge......cousin!If we're cousins I have a family favor to ask, I need you to come up here and take a poplar down for me that's threatening my house! I think I can pull it over with a winch, the "think" part is what worries me! I also have good Canadian beer!
