Congrats!

Was it a standing dead or fallen tree?
How low was the moisture content?

It was all cut up in rounds in someone's backyard! Sitting behind an even bigger pile of white oak rounds (might have to go back for those as well). Moisture was about 30% on average, which was higher than I expected given that the bark was all falling off but it was sitting on the ground so I guess that explains it. This is going in my '20/'21 pile, so it will be plenty dry by then.

Somebody needs a truck

Yeah, it's fun seeing how much I can cram into the sedan but it's getting a little old. Once (or if) the car ever dies, I'll be looking for a truck.

it amazes me how people can identify trees. i can identify maple and... a pine tree

Junior high industrial arts (aka "Shop") class . . . never did learn to weld very well, draft or fix a small engine . . . but I did learn about the trees around me. Thank you Mr. Toto!
