It's 47.7 outside tonight, I had a small fire earlier tonight so I would have coals for the overnight fire. The basement temp started off at 73 with the temps up here 68 & 70. The overnight load has some ash and maple going in the wood stove.

Right? AC is on 74, not even idling. The pollen is insane, the world of horizontal surfaces is yellow. Trees are coming on hard.

Day before yesterday we had the place open and it's covered in pollen inside. Close it up, ac on for a place to get away from it
Same here. It is absolutely disgusting.

There were a few nights where it was raining pollen. Vegetables feeling their oats.
I stopped with fires when it got up low 40s at night, a month ago. It might sound strange but as much as I love a heat source which provides endless hot water and limitless cooking while running, I switch to electric as soon as I can. The wood is too important to be used lightly for me.

I threw in a small mix load of maple and cherry. It’s rainy still, and high in the low 40s today. I got home from work this am and house was 65 and the heat was on. I was surprised to find a fair amount of coal from Saturday evenings overnight fire, I thought for sure I would be doing a cold start. Pic 1 is of the new load on old coals and pic 2 is evidence we are approaching end of season with the not so translucent glass.

We had a low of 28.6 this morning with snow coming in tonight. The basement started off at 70 with the temps up here 67 & 68.

After coffee, I started a fire with some maple with plans on putting in a small load of ash or whatever is in the area I'm getting firewood from.

Upper 30’s and rain for the last 3 days, can’t take it anymore. Just lit the Vista up with mix bag of smaller splits. Wife said she is cold at work so will have a warm house for her.

Our low this morning was 25, the basement temp started out at 72 with the temps up here 67 & 68. The first fire had a mix of ash, cherry and maple. Since the lows tomorrow morning are forecast below 20, I had another fire with the same types of wood, the basement temp should be around 79.

We've had snow all day, we should end up getting a total of 3 inches.
