It's 47.7 outside tonight, I had a small fire earlier tonight so I would have coals for the overnight fire. The basement temp started off at 73 with the temps up here 68 & 70. The overnight load has some ash and maple going in the wood stove.
The outside temp was 36.8 this morning with some good rains overnight, both temps up here were 69 and the basement temp was 72. I took some ashes out and then started a fire around 11.
57F inside today so lit up a mix of cherry shorts, and an oak split with a top down set up using mostly just oak bark as sleepers on bottom and middle row. Twigs and pine cones on top.
There were a few nights where it was raining pollen. Vegetables feeling their oats.
I stopped with fires when it got up low 40s at night, a month ago. It might sound strange but as much as I love a heat source which provides endless hot water and limitless cooking while running, I switch to electric as soon as I can. The wood is too important to be used lightly for me.
We have an outside temp of 33.6 tonight, the basement temp is starting out at 73 with both temps up here at 69. The wood stove has a load of ash & maple for our overnight heat.
