I didn't have an overnight fire last night, I set the furnace. No fire today but the heat from the propane stove had the temp up here at 74. some of that was from the propane fireplace this morning.

I made another big pot of soup today, I thought that the wife was making it but the boss said I was, pick your battles when you're married, this one wasn't winnable .

Still to warm here for a fire. House staying in the upper 60’s. Mini split if needed for a quick warm up and then shut off. Maybe tomorrow morning will start the stove again. Don’t run the stove above 40 outside temp.

Very funny. I cooked also. Sautéed Brussels with pancetta in the Lodge skillet with Asian chicken wraps. Delicious.

The basement temp was down to 64 so I started a fire, it's mostly birch limb wood with a few medium size birch splits, the basement is 70 at the moment.
That's what the dragon's eating now. Black birch limbs from yesterday's haul home. That and some pine splits that seasoned 11mons.

Just been feeding an evening load or 2 and an overnight. I add some premiums for the overnights.

It's 31.8 out tonight, the basement started out at 70 with the temps up here 68 & 69. The overnight load has four splits of beech on the bottom row with another four splits of birch on the top row, two white & two yellow.

1/2 load of oak and maple overnight . Had the fire going only a split or two at a time during the day to maintain 70-72.

It was 15.5 when we got up this morning but dropped to 12.1 real quick, the furnace did kick on. After the first cup of coffee I started a fire, three good size splits of birch with two good size splits of beech on the top row went in the wood stove.

Fire this morning was close to dead out. Had just a few light coals under the ashes. Was able to revive it with some kindling and built up to a small fire this morning
Just DM’d you about the outcome of NG bills in Mass.

First time back to the Northwoods since mid December. Did some temperature balancing with the ductwork for the furnace after snowblowing, now warming up the Stratford 2 with some pine and aspen.

Gotta get things dialed in, going to be living here shortly!

Currently 20 degrees and blustery. Will be in the single digits tonight. Going into the negatives tomorrow night.

6 degrees in the Northwoods. 1/2 load of cherry going to re-establish a good coal bed. Applying my new "char the load more, dummy" theory up here like I did at home and the glass isn't smoked.

I always forget how much harder it is to establish draft with the outside air kit...

4 splits this morning before I left for work to carry the temps most of the day. At work today/tonight so won’t be using the stove tonight. One more blast of winter it looks like, starting tonight and lasting through Monday. I’ll be full burn day tomorrow.

Was 56 today, but then it nosedived and it's 35 now with a forecast low of 21.
Upstairs is 70 and there is some pine and spruce in the stove heating up the basement.

One 9"x9"x18" maple and the rest spruce.

Morning all, getting the stove going off yesterday am’s oak and maple coals. Full load of spruce in, it got to the teens last night and the house was 65 when I arrived home from work this am, furnace set to 60 so not bad. I ran a load yesterday even though it was going to be 50 to heat soak for the overnight lows. Worked well. High of 29 today and looks to be full sun. I will load her up again tonight probably after watching the napcar race. It’s ☕️ time now, I will probably get out there later morning and reload the spruce tote with the last of the spruce for the year.
