Burning some wood fuel blocks. It's 46 out. Inside is 72. This may be it for the burning season for us but then again I thought the same a week ago.

Another mixed load just went in to get to the overnight later. We're going to be above freezing tomorrow!

Switched back over to my bin of ash today. Milder temps finally so able to dial things down and extend those burn times again.

I reloaded with mostly spruce, two splits of oak, one pine, and some locust uglies I found.

Still around 20 degrees and won't get much colder tonight with a bit of a breeze. Load of ash, beech and sugar maple just went in on a good bed of coals.

Cold start of oak, cherry and maple. Six splits. STT almost 700. Warming the house up. Will cut back loading later today upper 30’s coming.

26/69 full load 4 splits of Aspen, 2 splits of Oak. Still working out some kinks on this Fireview. I’ve been burning with the air completely shut at #0. It should snuff out the flame and give me a black box cat burn at this setting. Still get a clean burn and 8-10 hour burn but I know it can do better.

5 pieces of ash this morning. Should warm things up then simmer most of the day. Supposed to get to about 37 degrees. Finally back to easy-peasy heating and ash control weather again.

Really cool. Hope you had a nice trip! You missed the ice we had here in New England.

We left Bradley Sunday am and it was a mess. Left late and our connector out of charlotte got cancelled. Lots of stress but we made it to our destination almost 23 hours after waking up sun am. By the looks of the yard this weeks weather was a mess. Lots of twigs/branches to deal with this week.
Anyway going away is always nice but coming back home is nicer. The king was being needy so I gave it a nice bowl of cat chow.

I did Fire Up some Nice Oak Full Rounds After Fire got Bed Coals in Bottom - First 2 , then Top It with Larger 3rd . .

When that Nasty N. Eastern Wind came a Hollowing - Note: -13F about 1hr after Sun Down - We got Hit

After the fire this morning didn’t need to reload until this evening and did a 1/3 load of some knotty oak uglies. Kept the house plenty warm until the overnight. Low of 25 tonight. 46 tomorrow.

Same here. First time in a while that I only had to do two loads one in the morning that took me to 8pm and then did a small overnight.
It’s been a cold winter and these warmer trends are very much welcomed.

42 already and sunny & windy. 1/2 load of shoulder season wood. Might need another when the sun goes down to freshen the coals for the overnight load, but maybe not.

Still 70 in the house when I woke up, so put in a 3/4 load of oak and maple to carry the day. Most likely won’t need to reload until sometime tonight. Supposed to get to 46 today.

Been burning but not posting much lately, we had a big warmup so I had a small fire this morning just a few oak splits on the bottom and a layer of silver maple up top to get things grooving.
