Seriously, read my thread. Not a lot of posts, although some of mine are long....as usual. LOL

I was reading through earlier. I don’t know any other stoves very well to properly recommend one for your situation though.. can’t wait to see what you decide however 👍🏼Seriously, read my thread. Not a lot of posts, although some of mine are long....as usual. LOL

In the pic, just above the far left split, what's that ring looking thing?Cruising along at 675+ STT with blower on max.
I'll end up deciding but won't make the move for some time. The parlor stove will be the last purchase of the four. Mudroom may come after or not. Many depending factors here. OWB is priority along with the kitchen wood stove.I was reading through earlier. What was your STT?5 ash & 1 beech. 6 degrees already outside! Haven't seen that high of a temperature since Saturday I think.
Last nights experiment was a success. Not sure if I'm at the final location of the magnet yet; but it was a good, controllable burn.
Small piece of dogwood. In the pic, just above the far left split, what's that ring looking thing?
There's even a flame that appears to be rolling out of it.
I think it topped out at 620 stt and 780 flue. What was your STT?
Good STT. I don’t have a flue probe for mine. I have telescopic Excel stove pipe that I don’t want to mess with. It runs under 36” to a 90 and a short run to the thru wall thimble. My STT ranges from 550-700 depending on my needs.I think it topped out at 620 stt and 780 flue.
With the load going right now, got flue at 580*, stove at 640*. Flue monitored with Auber. Verified magnet thermometer with IR gun.I wish! After adding the damper it got better, but still is usually 150 degrees different flue over stt (with the blower running on high). Flue at 10% open air 1/4 open with a full hardwood load I'm over 800 flue and 620-650 stt.
There's several people here that are regular posters who have the NC30. Any of you guys able to run stt equal to or higher than flue?
In the name of science I am going to see if I can get this to happen with the damper closed as far as I can, the air open, and keep it running (with the magnet off the secondary air that I just put on...) It's still -5 out and I'm not going outside, so I might as well do some playing with it.
I should remind everyone about my flue situation too. 24' total flue height, 4' horizontal run 42" above the stove. It seems like I fight weak draft until it's HOT, then it gets really strong when it's hot, then lose it badly as it cools. I did a bunch of experimenting when I first installed the damper and I think it was @Gearhead660 who at one point suggested to try shutting the damper before the air control, which was better than shutting air down first.
I feel for you. So glad I'm not riding the ball today.Real feel of 3 degree outside. At work warming up inside currently. Sitting in a boom reach basket on the shady side of a building isn’t very fun right now
Yea installing louvers on a building. Just holding onto the frozen aluminum louver during install completely sucks all the heat from your hands even through gloves. The rest of me is fine just my hands are frozen😂I feel for you. So glad I'm not riding the ball today.
