I need to replace the door gasket for my vermont casting aspen C3. According to the manual I need 3/8" low density fiberglass gasket. I have Rutland Grapho-Glas 3/8 that I picked up at the store. Will this work properly?

Should work fine if that size it what the manual specifies. Install it with RTV Silicone for better adhesion.

What type of rtv silicone do you recommend?
Was reading this thread, just a follow up; did this gasket work for you?

I ask because I replaced my gasket (for a Hearthstone Mansfield) that has same specs (low density 3/8 gasket). I did not read the "low density" in the manual and used this Rutland product. I have a devil of a time closing the door. I actually thought I used too much adhesive and removed and reapplied a new gasket of the same product.....no good.

According to a search about Rutland gaskets these are considers medium density items. So I believe it' my issue. Jut curious if your application worked.

So I'm searching for low-density gasket brands, I like Rutland products but they evidently do not make low density gaskets.
