I have a Hearthstone Mansfield 8011.
Replaced the original door gasket a month ago using Rutland Grapho-glas gasket. The fit is way to snug...door is very tight fit.

I did not read the manual close initially but Hearthstone spec calls for low-density gasket.
Google searches reveals that rutland only produces medium-density gaskets.

Questions:
What are suggested brands that make low density rope?
Could I use a smaller dia. rope of rutland grahpo-glas (spec is 3/8 maybe try 5/16)? I might just try this.

Thanks,
Joe

Thanks a bunch!

I have to add to my thread:

I ordered the gasket for my hearthstone stove from Rocky Mountain Stove and received it today.

Holy crap!!!
What a difference Rutland 3/8" compared to the Rocky Mountain Stove purchase (hearthstone) 3/8" gasket rope.

The hearthstone manual spec is 3/8" LOW DENSITY.
The rutland package does not mention density but searches on the internet resulted in that rutland only makes MEDIUM density.

For sure density makes a big difference. I took a side-by-side pic of the gasket ropes.

If you read this @begreen thank you very much for the Rocky Mountain referral.

The Hearthstone gasket appears to have a tighter weave. After years of experimenting and getting mixed results at best, I now only use OEM stove gaskets.
