using ash-pan door for high draft at start-up

i know i've been told not too.. but i still use the ash door to give it a little extra draft.

however, it's only open for about 1 min max!! just until the fire starter takes off. i am 100% positive this is not hurting my stove temp wise (it's not open long enough)... but i 100% agree that if you get distracted things could go bad if the door is left open!!!

the point is...it's not a good idea to do it. but if you do, use caution, and NEVER leave the stove without closing it...
