My maxx with my own custom igniter starts a fire in 5 min. But its not Oem. Settings on stoves tend to be for that stove, a guideline so to speak. If it were mine i would spend some time in the garage and dial it in then road test for a couple days, then make its new home in the house. 😎
I know the pelpro would light within 3 minutes, Im going to order the longer igniter and see if it works better, Same wattage, just closer to the tip of the tube ( super easy to change out )

I do have a question , What should I use to lube the motors ( feed auger, and all blowers ) I have a few different types from 3in1, an industrial oil we used on motors for all the shoe machinery, and I have a silicone based lube that everyone calls Duck Butter as it is waerproof too but safe for electrical and heat contact.... Since Ive cleaned and blown everything out I want to make sure everything is lubed as well.

Avoid silicone additives, the bushings are sintered and will clog the holes. You 3 in1 industrial should be fine. One thing about the igniters is how close to the burn pot hole they are. The closer the better

Thank you, and yes, that is what I heard about the igniters and with this one being 3-4" back from the tip of the tube just baffles me as everything states 3/8" to 1/2" from edge of tube as thats how my last pellet stove was as well. I know this Englander 25 is discontinued but parts are still available. I sent an email to Englander but havent heard back from them yet on the proper igniter part# as well as measurement specs for the 6" tube and igniter. Good news is it works as it is, hopefully better when I get the longer igniter.
I got the auger motor lubed, trying to see if theres a way to lube the actual auger if needed. Im assuming the blowers need to be removed to lube them?? And thinking to replace one thats slightly humming as it will probly get louder or if lucky some lube will cure it ? I assume the PO never did any maintenance on this as the ash was deep and packed behind the plates inside the unit, I ran the vac in one port, scrubbed with an HVAC brush from the other then switched, lastly I ran the vac in one port and used compressed air with extension to blow everything out including the blower housings, a lot of ash came out and took a bit to get it blowing clear again,,, Got a few small things to do ( make or buy the fiber/brick board ) clean up or replace the basket as its cracked on the bottom or I may weld it and just carry on. So far Im happy with it. Lastly Ill sand the outside to get the rust spots off and repaint it. Cleaned the glass today and after this season I plan to replace all the gaskets.

Got an email today from Englander, The tech that responded actually has the exact stove in his house. He said the short igniter is the proper one. He also stated that the tube must be adjusted to it is in contact with the burn pot so surrounding air does not pull the heat away from the pellets ( mine just comes to the end of the housing ) so I will need to loosen the mounting collar and push it a little further in to contact the burn pot. So all seems to be good and I just need to do a bit of adjustment there.

Adjusted the tube to reach the burn pot as instructed by the service tech at Englander. Tried to weld the burn pot but it was blowing holes instead of filling in... think the metal is too weak, Ill just order a new pot as its not that much. Made a template for the fire brick board ( whatever its called ) debating making it look like bricks or stones , I might even do some design like skulls or something LOL
