Timer on the Refrigerator to save money??

Well I am still not convinced that a 24 Hr timer on the frig. will save no money.
Since the frig door is not opened at night the food should not spoil.

That can be easily tested with a watt meter at Home Depot and a 24 Hour Timer.

Put the watt meter on for 24 hours to get a baseline of how much electricity is being used.

Put in an ice pack or jug of water. Then set the timer and the watt meter for another 24 hour period.
Program the timer to turn the fridge off from 10 PM to 1:30 and from 2:30 to 6 AM without impacting your food.

My Refrigerator is on a 15 AMP circuit so this Home Depot $11 - 24 Hr Timer should work fine.
