As I run my system up down, and with a timer to save myself a nice coalbed for the next fire(thanks Sled_Mack), I have plenty of coals slip through the gassifier nozzils. Was wondering if I could put something like a grill grid over them and it still work correctly, and would it hold up to the temps. I guess I could always just try it and see, but maybe someone else has done this and save me the trouble.

Why does the bigger coals remain unburned in the lower chamber when the next fire burns so hot? Should this torch just cremate anything combustable in its path?
