Efficiency Maine has adopted the following program change to the guidelines of the Home Energy Savings Program:
- The limit of 50 rebates initially placed on installations of Ultra-Low GHG Whole House Heating Systems (e.g., central pellet boiler systems, geothermal heat pump systems) is hereby waived indefinitely. There is no further cap on the quantity of rebates available for eligible pellet boilers and geothermal heat pump systems.
- The amount of the rebate ($5,000) and the specifications for systems that qualify for the rebate remain unchanged.
- Rebates for qualifying Ultra-Low GHG Whole House Heating Systems will be made retroactive to projects installed after September 11, 2013, regardless of whether they received a rebate "reservation."
- Previously issued reservations for the Ultra-Low GHG Whole House Heating System rebate will be honored through the end of the 120 day reservation period. No other projects will require or be offered a rebate reservation.
- Rebates will remain available while funds last. Program guidelines are subject to change. Efficiency Maine provides no guarantee that equipment currently qualifying for rebates under HESP, including Ultra-Low GHG Whole House Heating Systems, will be eligible for rebates in the future, or that the rebates will remain at their current value.
