Can't disagree with that. I bought this place earlier this year and just trying to make the most out of this old carport. House didnt even have a wood stove in it, despite being in the woods in a real area. Lady living in it used the forced air furnace. Figured that old carport that's probably going to fall down soon would be a great place to store the wood after installed a BK Sirocco 30.2 and making use of the great hearth that was inside. Was sacrilege that she had an electric fireplace on that hearth!

Don't know what she holds. If I was doing it over I wouldn't have added the floor. I added blocks to support the weight. I rotate outside racks for one or two seasons to the shed for the last before burning.
I'm curious what you don't like about the floor. I plan on building something similar, I already have about 8" of gravel over very sandy soil, so I have no worries of water sitting. I was going to put in a floor but maybe I shouldn't...?

If you add a floor make it have gaps. Like deck boards but with a 1-2" gap between them. This helps with air flow and drying

Just finished the woodshed this afternoon. 18 feet wide by 6 feet deep. 8 feet tall in front sloping to 6 feet tall in back. Should fit around 5 cords, so about a season's worth of wood. Can't wait to not have to mess with tarps this winter.
How has this treated you over the last few years? I plan to build almost exactly same next year. Mine will be closer to 20' long but otherwise plans are similar. I burn 2-3 cord year depending on winter, in eastern Canada. I expect one side to do a year roughly, I am always a year ahead on my wood. Have you been happy with the amount of closure on sides and back or have you changed anything over the years? I did plan on putting a floor down but I may not, I have sandy soil and 8" of gravel on ground currently, no issue with water sitting.

Same issue here. I now have four 6x16 sheds, plus a fifth smaller, and still logs piling up. I'm just splitting now logs that I piled in 2020, and I am finding some have gone punky, despite being stacked on purlins off the ground. I have family calling and asking me to come pick up more ash trees from them, but I'm already about 3 years out on stacked logs here. Starting to think I need to build a few more sheds, or at least some way to keep logs dry.
If you are that far ahead, you should be splitting and selling the wood, no sense in letting that free wood go to waste...
