My bad
Then if he wants an 8" flue, go with the buck.

To bad they stopped making it but, the Kuma Sequoia would have been a contender if going 8" liner.

Sounds like the only options I have for what I am looking for would be a BK Princess or the Buck 91.
Can any of the hybrids run slow and low?

But the princess won't have an 8" flue, so if you want that, it's the buck

The fire box size difference is notable between the two.

Yes, that's why I compared it to the King earlier, missing the point that the OP wanted an insert.

@Gearhead660 I wanted to throw this out there, have you looked at the rear vent freestanding stoves from woodstock and jotul? Put it in front of your fireplace and get long slow burns from the woodstock. If your fireplace is big enough to fit a Buck 91 then you "should" be able to put a rear vent freestanding in front of the fireplace.

Would love to do this, but it would take up too much room if I did. The fireplace has a hearth that sticks out about 15", and is around a foot off the floor.

So, came across a great deal on a PE Super Insert. In very good shape, looks to have only had a handful of fires. 2010 model. Will be going through it and plan to have it installed for this fall.

Heck yeah! Straighten those bricks out, paint her up and she's ready... Hope your wood supply is dry. The best stove in the world is frustrating to try and use if the wood isn't dry, but PE's are one of those that will stand wetter wood better, being an easy breather. Stay warm.

Got some paint on the way. Took it all apart to check and clean it up. All looks good. Will get the inserts swapped out over the summer. Cant wait to try this out next fall.

All checked over, cleaned up, blower motors lubed, and a fresh coat of metallic black Stove Bright paint.
Looks Super ;) ! This is the start of a beautiful friendship. Enjoy!
