The ordering process left me to feel i was being scammed.
For the Blaze King Ashford 20.2 they are asking $1,400. seemed really good. I put in an order and select credit card to submit order, expecting to get shipping total. Nothing, just a "thank you" and an order number. The next day they call and say they've emailed and texted me about my order (which they have not). And they are pushing very hard to get my PayPal account and make a payment now. When I asked about shipping across multiple states for the bk ashford 20.2 they said $80.00. Their prices seem too good to be true. They not once asked about my order, shipping details, or would give me much info. Just asked for payment. They've called 6 times now.
Anyone have experience with this company???

Doesn't PayPal provide insurance for your purchase?
It's safer than your credit card as the vendor won't get your credit card number..

In my opinion, there are too many red flags. The site was registered in October of 2024 to a Massachusetts address that doesn’t exist with a phone number that belongs to a guy in Connecticut. The address the list for their location is a yogurt shop in Santa Clara, CA. The site’s ‘about us’ page claims that the company builds stoves, yet their listings are for established brands.

The phone number listed on the website, (661) 660-4018, is a mobile number serviced by ONVOY SPECTRUM, LLC. Onvoy has a less-than-stellar reputation for the telecommunications services they offer.

Consider calling your credit card company and try to freeze the transaction and flag the merchant.

There are a number of online scam sites popping up. I saw one yesterday selling chimney pipe for a ridiculously low price. A scam check showed it to be highly suspect. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. When in doubt, move on.

Amazing! Thank you Isabel! Thankfully I never gave them any payment information after the suspicious phone call.

I agree. Buy local and in person. Helps the local economy and you don't get scammed. Local store sells a BK Ashford 20 for $4,795. ouch! but at that is better than getting scammed out of $1,700 for a 'good deal'.

1000000 percent a SCAM website. These are the bane of my existence. These scammers love to steal my photos and use them to scam people. Nothing can be done. They take down one site and 2 more pop up. Welcome to AI and how easy it is to make these scam sites.

If you ever see any stove in this setting with this background, and its not on my verified pages or my reddit page, or you are talking to me directly, its a scam.

My younger self would be scheming up ways to prank them or just email outrageous questions to them.
Honestly its not even worth the effort. Ive tricked one guy into actually calling me because he thought he was going to sell me my own stove.

Called him out and found out on the phone after asking him tons of questions he could not answer. Though when I asked when if he did business w Kingdom Wood Stoves(my real shop) becauae they were my photos, he said he was my "partner". Then I told him who I really was and I know hes a lier, I have no partner and the stoves hes claiming to sell belong to the people I restored them for.

He then admitted he was living in Nigeria and be blamed the US for all his problems and why his family cant eat and that justifies him to scam people with my work.

This single scammer I got to "agree" to not use my photos after I guilt him about me needed to take care of my own family, only for him to end the conversation by begging me to send him $20 on venmo to feed his family. No. I need to feed my family. (Spoiler, he went back to using my photos a week later)

Talking to them does nothing, wasting their time does nothing, and reaching out and talking to them on FB actually makes things worse because it boosts their profile as being more "real" because people are messaging and talking to them. Just report them and move on.

If they are my photos you can actually report them for business impersonation fraud, and it will ask what business, start typing mine "Kingdom Wood Stoves" and you will see my real pages come up with blue checkmarks, and select those as what they are impersonating and report.

I have a sneaky suspicion that some of these sites are now AI generated and bot run. They are just out there to harvest personal and credit card info.

Hence paypal. Your credit card info won't be available to the vendor (fake or real)

Yes, if that's an option. Sometimes it's not.

They will either trick people into using friends and family payments that can not be reversed, or ask then for their email for a "receipt" and will instead send a fake email looking like its from paypal, thats just a phishing site. You click on it and "log in" to paypal, and it just gives them your login info and they lock you out of your paypal and access any accounts linked to it.

I agree.
Here though the OP said they're pushing very hard for Paypal.
That made me hesitant that this was a scam - though the later, deeper analysis clearly showed that the whole thing stinks.

They can still scam to get paid for something they don't have (and just not aim to get access to your credit card) - but the buyer is then protected by Paypal (I believe).

Regarding the web page tricking: yes, that could be how they do it here. (But it's fairly easy to see the URL and know it's not Paypal.)

Anyway, this one's bad for sure. And I'm sorry you had to deal with them too, @D. Hermit
