Welders gloves or any good thick leather gloves that go well over the wrist are recommended. I was branded by the edge of my door opening a few times until I got a little smarter.

Something to be able to pick up a burning split might sometimes come in handy too. The poker is a must. Ash shovel is a must too unless you get that weird vacuum.

For me - I bought two hammered steel log racks from enclume. I have one on the right of the fireplace with a tool set and the one on the left is just a rack.

I have some stack-it brackets to make some nice log racks out in the back yard. I use treated 4 by 4s on the bottom to space the wood off the ground a little more and put a concrete step under each one. I have 4 of these that are about 20 feet long. I'll take some pics.

A Koalkeeper is nice...

I bet it beats lugging a Kirby around all the time though.
