Just got back from the Lowes in Epping, NH, price went up to $4.98 per bag. So that's $249 per ton, not bad but not great. They still have about 30 tons left but they said that's it for the season.

The pellets don't have that tight, shiny appearance to them. There's lots of dust and lots of soft or broken pellets. Lots of ash, clinkers, and sparks. Way more than any other brand. And a few bags over the course of the season weren't well sealed and had gotten wet inside. About the only thing they have going for them is that they're still in stock.

I know that when I bought a ton of Stove Chow about a month or two ago the overal reviews were "great pellet for the price" and they are, but I'll tell you, I got the dustiest ton of pellets I have ever had. Other than that they were fine.
I also went through 24 bags of Maine Woods, I thought they were a very good pellet, good heat, low dust and pretty low ash. Not the best but very good, at least in my stove.
