Reluctantly purchased 4 tons of Barefoot at 279 per ton. Burned 198 bags of Lignetics purchased at $250 per ton last year with excellent results. Could have gotten Bayou brand pellets at 264 per ton but my test bag looked pretty dusty and it's been too hot to run a test burn. Also had a line on NEWP at $269 but read mixed reviews. I decided I'd rather spend an extra $40 - $100 rather than deal with the anxiety of waiting and 4 tons of issues all winter. Don't really consider 4 tons pig territory since I only have two bags left from my 4 ton purchase last year.

I burned 3 tons of them last winter, and had good results.....I wouldn't hesitate burning them again at all.

$279/ton for the barefoots was a good deal. I can't touch them for less than $299/ton. They were the best pellets I have burn so far. High heat and little ash. Almost no fines. The ash you will get is very fluffy and just wipes off the stove and burn pot. Little scrapping needed. They burn real hot. You should be able to turn the stove setting down a notch or two.

As Macman said the Newps are also a good pellet too. But for $10.00 a ton more for the barefoots. you did fine.

I can't comment on the bayou pellets have not seen them around me yet!

Let use know come winter how you like those Barefoots?

Pulled the trigger on Rocky Mountain Pellets from pelletsales...2.6 Tons for $850 with delivery. It's Painful A) with the price of oil...and B) can't find anything cheaper on Long Island. I figure I can do a combo of oil and pellet heat this year.

Groundhog :I live in CT Can I ask where you got the Barefoots at.They are a great pellet!!

Thanks Greg

Hey Greg, I picked up the Barefoots at Agway in Bethel CT. A little steep at $279 per ton but for the sake of quality I went for it. They are also in stock at the at Tri-County Coal just over the line in Carmel NY at the same price.

I bought 2 tons of Lignetics in NW NJ yesterday. $280 a ton (no delivery I hauled them myself), a bit steep but it is a quality pellet. I used 3 tons plus 11 bags last winter so I figure I'll need another ton somewhere along the way.

I have a hair over 2 tons left... when they're gone I don't plan on replacing them unless prices get back down around $200 a ton (which is pretty unlikely).
