Kind of like waxing a car.

Wax on, right hand. Wax off, left hand. Wax on, wax off. Breathe in through nose, out the mouth. Wax on, wax off.

At the end of last season my glass looked like this too. It was so bad, I couldn't even use paper towel to try to clean it because it would just disintegrate the paper to pulp. I had good luck using this spray called Fireview, but it still looked like yours. After some advice here, I tried the razor blade trick with limited success. Not until I soaked the glass with the Fireview spray then used the razor did the glass come back to new condition.
