The adaptor piece I believe is Jotul specific. If you had to replace your current one, I’d go Jotul, just so you know it’s made specifically for your stove.
 
I should correct above- I meant to ask if that long pin is inserted into that appliance adapter inside the stove near the flu outlet. I initially said “cotter pin”, but that’s not correct. There is an actual Cotter pin that holds that large pin in place, but what I was really asking about was that larger pin because if that is either not installed, or for some reason has been removed, then that could very well be the problem with your adapter.
 
One more thing I wanted to mention- to view the flue from inside stove- you don’t need to fully remove the baffles. You can just push up and move aside the “skamol” panels that fit in the cast baffles.
