ow! that hurts my head trying to figure that out.....must be your formatting or something....

in MA, there isnt tax on pellets.

Those prices arent especially good either.

That is their exact email minus the confirmation numbers and a paragraph on the bottom about a referral program.

The formatting was lost during the cut'n paste.

Basically, $199 for delivered immediate delivery around $25-$30 delivery charge, $219 for delivery in the last days of summer/probably Labor Day.

They had pick up specials / (in our area it would be Westfield)

I went in for 3 tons, my stove dealer said I would need only 2 but no harm if I sit on a partial for a year. Their delivery charge is competitive with everybody. A budy of mine pays $20 delivery and the place is 500 ft away from his house!

I hope pelletsales.com does well so they can string together deliveries/make a profit and delivery charges can at least stay flat.

You have to do the math to get around the deceptive advertising.
"Pickup Options
Product Brand Tons
Wood Pellets (Premium) Greenway Premium 4 (tons) One Day Event (Early Buy Special Event)**
Fuel ($/Ton) Delivery To Site ($/Ton) Tax Total Action
$199.00 $5.00 $0.00 $816.00 Purchase"

Actually this is $204 per ton NOT $199 for pick-up

"Wood Pellets (Premium) Canadian Premium 4 (ton) One Day Event (Early Buy Special Event)**
Fuel ($/Ton) Delivery To Site ($/Ton) Tax Total Action
$219.00 $5.00 $0.00 $896.00 Purchase"

This is $224 per ton pickup.
That is a deceptive marketing ploy. That would be like me saying my pellets are $175 with a $24 handling fee. No matter how you spin it, it is still $199. Unfortunately, people fall for it.

"This product ships 1.2 tons per skid. You get 20% more product at the same price per bag."

This looks like another tricky marketing ploy. You get 20% more bags on the pallet, but the price is the same- SO WHAT??? If you're not paying attention you might think you are actually saving something. NOT SO!

I got the quote and bought five tons of Greenway premiums for $200.00 per ton. Could have picked them up and saved $100.00, but the cost of gas, time hassle etc would more than outweigh their delivery charge. Can't complain about $200/ton pellets and having next year's supply issues resolved before Memorial day.

So if you drive a long way on one day, you get the same price Harryback has everyday!

Such a deal.....

And that 20% more thing - slick! Makes me wonder about the math abilities of pellet users.

Not a bad price, all in all, and the idea of various pick up places is a good service for those with no other options except the high priced spread. There are a lot of people who have to pick up since they must haul the things far anyway (basement, etc.), so it doesn't save them too much to drop 'em in the drive

Based on the idea of folks moving their own one ton pallets into final resting places - what about some kind of an inexpensive dolly that the delivery guy can set the pallets on? Something cheap enough that you can leave it there until you use the pellets.....

I hereby announce an even bigger sale at Harrybacks - you buy ANY amount of pellets over one ton and Harry will sell you 100% more at the SAME PRICE PER BAG. Forum members? Oh, you get as much as 200% more at the same price per bag. Such a deal......harry, better hire that traffic guard for this sale.

what they can do, Zeta,
is use the lift to push the pallet as far in as possible, then drop the pallet
and back up until the forks are halfway out of the pallet, and push the skid in that way...

Yep. The guys at Lowes loaded a ton in my sisters pickup
that way in order to push the skid further up in the truck bed.
Unfortunately our garage is packed up with stuff, (not my stuff btw),
and all the things we need access to would get jammed in
all summer. We have a spot cleared in the back for two
tons but have to bring them in by hand. No biggy. Three of
us get 2 tons stacked in there pretty quickly.

Craig I'd buy from harryback in a heartbeat if I
lived close enough for delivery, which I don't.
(According to mapquest it's 87 miles one way to his place).

Alright we know you don't care much for pellets, but do you have to rip on us too?

Putnam, you get an even better deal.

I will offer you 500% more, yes 5x as much, for the SAME PRICE PER BAG as a ton.
For those firewood users out there, I have contacted every firewood vendor in the country, and they have agreed to provide you virtually ANY quantity of firewood AT THE SAME PRICE PER CORD as a single cord. Now that's pull.

Put, try living in Philadelphia or New Jersey, and you'll quickly get the humor!
