I guess nobody wants to admit that pellet stove consumption can't be compared toO.K. Now, I have three pellet stoves and am very happy with them; as supplemental space heaters. I understood that that was what I was getting when I installed them. But you have to remember that the oil or propane furnace typically has multiple vents in rooms throughout the house. So the heat is spread via hot air to a much larger portion of the house. The only way you can realistically make a comparison here is to set a test facility that monitors usage and equal cfpm airflow.

If you want to sell your house, just know that a bank won't mortgage a house without a central heating system. Pellet stoves and radiant heating don't qualify for central heating. What's a central heating system? Never got one. The Harman heats the infloor too. They are sold as room heaters. We here seem to push the limits to save $$$
Possibly, but a "central" furnace could be jammed into a closet with a supply out one side and return air on the other. Problem solved with short cash. Banks will lend on a pile of dung if they know they will be paid back so it doesn't really matter. If you want to sell your house, just know that a bank won't mortgage a house without a central heating system. Your set up is considered central heating because there is a heating source in each room from a central source; the main electrical panel. As far as the monitors and other space type heaters go, a bank might issue a non guarantied loan ( just the mortgaged property as collateral) but the FHA , HUD, or GI loan programs will not. I had this happen to me in a house that only had multiple wood stoves.False. The banks lend on homes with baseboard electric or room by room electric wall heaters all the time. I have no central system and just refinanced my house this month.
