Hi, I'm looking for advice on how/if this situation can be repaired. I moved in to this house a few months ago, and it appears the Blaze King was overfired. The bracket that lifts the bypass damper has corroded/melted to pieces, and the frame around the bypass opening is compromised. The chimney sweep guy said there was likely a fire in the flue pipe. Hoping for a remedy besides dropping $5k on a new stove. Are there aftermarket parts for this?

I think you're out of luck unless. It would require a lot of welding to get that right.
And if you had a chimney fire, you may also need new pipe.

The gaskets are also shot.

I think water dripped in from the flue?

The parts are available and it is almost certainly possible to fix. Cutting and welding is required to the stove while it’s flipped over in its top. Not something to be done in your living room.

Can you cut and weld in confined spaces? Do you know somebody that can?
