Holy crap! Some how I stopped getting notifications for this thread. I've been having a little more luck but only if I load the stove so that I get major air flow down the center and even then the splits sitting directly on floor of the firebox don't want to burn well, while those stacked on top of them burn great. I especially have issues when I try to load the firebox so that there is more than one log on either side of the doghouse. The split on the outside doesn't seem to get barley any air.

I also just recently noticed that there seems to be absolutely no difference between the the air control fully open and half way closed. In fact I can get a new load going just as easy with the air half closed as I can with it fully open. Is this normal for this model?

fhon, the air control on my is like that and I remember there are other members mention that also. are you extended your chimney any higher?

Mine is a little bit more sensitive than that but not much. I pretty quickly drop from full throttle to 75% with no visible effect on the flames in the box. Remember though that with a non-cat you aren't actually limiting air to the stove, you are simply redirecting that air to come from the other holes instead of the airwash. The doghouse air and the top tubes are always full throttle, wide open.

Thanks guys. Good to know that's normal. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to extend the chimeny yet. Seems like we're getting sleet, rain or high winds every day. You think just 4 feet could make a noticeable difference?

THe stronger the draft the more difference you will see
