Life got in the way, so I’m not done with this project yet. All the wood is delivered and I have one stack complete with the roof on. I’ve decided not to use a tarp roof and instead I’m going to roof them with splits. The old ways seem better here in the windy north. Two other stacks are ready for their roofs and the last is started but I need to start it over.
Completing the first roof taught me that I should not make the base 8 feet wide but only 7 or even 6 feet. Because once the roof needed to be be put on I realized it was too wide for me reach the center to place the center splits of the roof. I’m going to make the last one only 6 or 7 feet around. Hopefully, by the time I get to the center of the roof, I’ll be able to reach it more easily. I may have to stack it higher.
