So this is our second winter with an Ashford 30 wood stove. We purchased this house 2.5yr ago and the heating is all baseboard electric, so I knew I wanted a wood stove. This winter I was careful to track how much wood I brought into the garage so I could get an idea of how much wood we burned. I'm in central NY and so far this season I've brought in 3 cords, I still have about 1.25 Face cord left to burn. We're burning about 90% ash. I've been able to get the ash myself, so I'm just spending time and gas for chainsaws and splitter. In our previous house we spent almost $5k for heating oil and we were cold all the time. If I had to buy this wood it would be under $1k for the amount we've burned and it's keeping the house mid to upper 70's, I live in shorts the whole winter. With the small amount we burn and the Catalytic combustor in the stove, my chimney pipe looks like we didn't even use the stove more than a few times. Even my wife is totally onboard with the stove and the comfort level it gives us
